Building for the Future

The NFL Draft is coming up and teams are taking their franchise players in our first round mock draft.

  1. Cleveland Browns: Sam Darnold (QB, USB) The Browns can take the risk of picking a Quarterback and not starting him in year one since they just acquired Tyrod Taylor to be their interim starter.
  2. New York Giants: Saquon Barkley (RB, Penn State) The Giants run game wasn’t stellar and if they can get the best player in the draft to come out of their backfield, it would be the smartest thing.
  3. New York Jets (just traded up with the Colts) Josh Rosen (QB, UCLA) The Jets are also in need of a starting QB and Rosen has all of the makings as a franchise QB.
  4. Cleveland Browns: Denzel Ward (CB Ohio State) With a defense that has been beaten deep in the past, picking up a shutdown cornerback is the another smart move for the Browns.
  5. Denver Broncos: Quenton Nelson (G, Notre Dame) With the signing of Case Keenum a QB isn’t needed but protection is and Nelson is the best on the board.
  6. Indianapolis Colts: Minkah Fitzpatrick (DB, Alabama) With the loss of Vontae Davis a big need is to fill that spot and Fitzpatrick is fast and can be used as a Safety or CB.
  7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Bradley Chubb (DE, NC State) The Bucs are in need of a dominant edge rusher and Chubb would compliment Gerald McCoy on the line.
  8. Chicago Bears: Tremaine Edmunds (LB, Virginia Tech) The Bears drafted Leonard Floyd last year and adding Edmunds who is incredibly athletic will make an incredible 1-2 punch.
  9. San Francisco 49ers: Derwin James (S, Florida St.) The 49ers defense was beat too many times to not address this. James is a lot like Kam Chancellor and will knock opposing players on their ass.
  10. Oakland Raiders: Roquan Smith (OLB, Georgia) With John Gruden coming back the Raiders will want a stout defense. Smith is a hard-hitting LB that will fill those gaps.
  11. Miami Dolphins: Vita Vea (DT, Washington)
  12. Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen (QB, Wyoming)
  13. Washington Redskins: Mike Hughes (CB, Central Florida)
  14. Green Bay Packers: Marcus Davenport (DE, UTSA)
  15. Arizona Cardinals: Calvin Ridley (WR, Alabama)
  16. Baltimore Ravens: Orlando Brown (OT, Oklahoma)
  17. San Diego Chargers: Mike McGlinchey (OT, Notre Dame)
  18. Seattle Seahawks: Isaiah Wynn (G, Georgia)
  19. Dallas Cowboys: Christian Kirk (WR, Texas A&M)
  20. Detroit Lions: Maurice Hurst (DT, Michigan)
  21. Cincinnati Bengals: Will Hernandez (G, UTEP)
  22. Buffalo Bills: James Daniels (C, Iowa)
  23. New England Patriots: Kolton Miller (OT, UCLA)
  24. Carolina Panthers: Sam Hubbard (DE, Ohio State)
  25. Tennessee Titans: Harold Landry (Edge, Boston College)
  26. Atlanta Falcons: Da’ron Payne (DT, Alabama)
  27. New Orleans Saints: Baker Mayfield (QB, Oklahoma)
  28. Pittsburgh Steelers: Lamar Jackson (QB, Louisville)
  29. Jacksonville Jaguars: Rashaan Evans (LB, Alabama)
  30. Minnesota Vikings: Taven Bryan (DT, Florida)
  31. New England Patriots: Josh Jackson (CB, Iowa)
  32. Philadelphia Eagles: Jaire Alexander (CB, Louisville)
